The Origins of Bamboo Princess

Once upon a time, in a village in Japan, there lived an old man and his wife. They had no children. Since they really wanted to have children, they prayed to God every night so that they could be given a child soon. However, God had not given them a child yet. 

The old man worked as a bamboo lumberjack. He cut down bamboo trees and sold them to the city. One day, when he was about to cut down the trees, the old man saw a beam of light between the thick bamboo stems. He came closer to see the light thoroughly. Surprisingly, the light came from bamboo shoots. Carefully, the old man stripped the shining bamboo shoot. On a bamboo shoot, the old man found a baby.

With pleasure, the old man picked up the baby and went home. He told his wife about how he found that beautiful little baby. The old man's wife was very happy. They believe the baby was the answer to their prayers so far.

Because they found a baby girl in bamboo, they named her baby Bamboo Princess. They treat the Bamboo Princess well and full of love. Over the years, Bamboo Princess grew into a charming girl. She was not only beautiful, but also a kind-hearted girl and liked to help her parents. From then on, the old man and his wife's life was getting better. This was the result of their prayers and efforts.
